Werdegang / Ausbildung: 

Born 1985 in Lima- Peru, Elizabeth Wurst studied from 2006 until 2012 at the HBK Fine Arts University of Braunschweig, Germany, in the classes of Candice Breitz, Guy Ben-Ner, Thomas Virnich and Vera Bourgeois. 2013 she finished her postgraduate degree at the HBK by Prof. Candice Breitz focusing in performance and video installation. Elizabeth Wurst is currently living and working in Peru and Germany.

Wurst's work sets out to reinterpret the urban environment. Her projects often consist of performative interventions and take place in public spaces. They question the relationship between the female body and the objects of daily urban life by subverting their predefined function through absurd and passionate encounters.
Wichtige Projekte / Ausstellungen: 
In 2012 Wurst had her first institutional solo show called “The City as a stage” at the Junge Kunst e.V Wolfsburg. Her work has been featured internationally in various venues such as in China (2013, “I SEE – International Videoart Festival”, Rockbund Art Museum, Shanghai), USA (2012, “(e) merge art fair”, Washington und “Berliner”, Goethe Institute, New York), Island (2012, International Video Art Festival, Kallio Kunsthalle, Helsinki) and Germany ( 2009, “Playing The City”, group exhibition, Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt).
