Werdegang / Ausbildung:
Alexandre Liberato is a Portuguese visual artist based in Berlin, whose work includes a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, photography, and video. He holds a BA (Hons) in Architecture from the Technical University of Lisbon, attended the 'CREART - Artistic and Creative Research Labs' Program in Barcelona, and participated in several workshops in Lisbon and Berlin that support his creative methodology and production.
In his artistic practice, Alexandre explores the connection between the body and the mind, aiming to depict the beauty of the moment in which the body ceases to exist and becomes pure mind. Movement and performance are the fundamental elements to trigger this process of liberation, intuitively activating states of meditation that establish a profound experience of inner consciousness, of unity with a field of indivisible wholeness. In this introspective process, the body is insignificant but, at the same time, the reference. It is the beginning and the end of a trajectory that takes place in two opposite yet complementary directions, internal and external. In this process, the body accesses a dimension where time no longer applies, space is infinite, and where everything and nothing are of equal importance. In addition to the metaphysical and spiritual dimension, there is an emancipatory political intention present in the entire spectrum of his artworks.
