Werdegang / Ausbildung:
London-based director Cristina Vila Nadal is spending time filming in response to the global forced to stay indoors. Her riveting mix of DV raw footage and animation provides the foundation for her multilayered projects that question and explore what it means to be isolated through the aesthetic lens of intimate imagery.

'My background comes from a wide variety of projects, ranging from art direction (concept, shoot direction, pre and post production), film (concept, directing and editing), publication, exhibition and branding.
I like combining old and newer techniques, rethinking and redesigning traditional styles, merging different ideas, paying attention to legibility and detail, functionality and clear concepts.'
Wichtige Projekte / Ausstellungen:
Wonderful Struggle
This film will speak about finding peace in chaos and how our generation is united emotionally during the global quarantine. Presented on a continuous loop, the project will serve a subjective commentary on how I deal with the 'coronacoster' and the lockdown. Surrealist cut-up of a dissociative, abstracted shot of a figure clashing against static and visceral moments of performance, to once again echo the narrative of a body and mind in crisis, condensed into single, focussed cinematic frames.
A hypnotic film that will condense disturbing actions and emotions into single-focused frames. The overall aim is to create an emotional rescue through a physical experience. A 20-30 seconds piece played on loop that will use a friend's track that emanates dark and moody crescendo rhythms that are beautifully offset and it will set the perfect mood for the film.
