Werdegang / Ausbildung:
2011. Photography and Audiovisual Arts, Technological Educational Institution, Athens, Greece.

2000. Geology and Geoenvironment, University of Athens, Greece.

My artistic practice involves mainly photography and for the last few years I have been working with cameraless techniques, mostly cyanotypes.
Working with cameraless techniques allows me to work directly with light, without any mechanical mediator such as a photographic camera. Light is transferred directly onto my material and shapes it anew. It becomes not only the medium in my work, but the subject itself.

Also, what's of great interest to me is, that by working directly on paper, requires a chemical process that involves an interplay between the artist and his material. A balance between control and letting go. The resulted/revealed images at the end of the procedure come out as a combination of the artist's will and intention, with a process whose results can not be fully predicted.

In my work, I explore states of the conscious and subconscious mind, that remain hidden and unrevealed, till I bring them to the surface through the artistic procedure. It's an attempt to comprehend oneself as being a part of a larger energy system called world. In doing so, my images can be considered to be mental images, often maintain a contemplative character and hopefully transfer an energy of their own.
