Désirée Pfenninger is a filmmaker and artist based in Berlin. She enrolled in the cinema programme at Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in Paris, and later on studied at the Film University Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam. Her work frequently deals with space, atmosphere, the expression of standstill and the human need to connect. Her films often have the character of an installation.

She directed several Shorts, screened at international Festivals; “Silence and other Crimes” (2013, Kiev Molodist International Film Festival), “Ox on the Mountain” (2015, LES RENCONTRES INTERNATIONALES -PARIS/BERLIN) and “Shells” (2018, Best Editing - KIFF Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival). She one of the founder of “cinea.st”, a project- and exhibition space in Berlin. Current projects include developing a script for a fictional feature film and the feature documentary “Ghoststories” co-directed with Flora Dias in Para, Brazil.
