Together with Neukölln`s actors from the fields of art, culture, science, architecture, drama, design and art education, the festival theme for 2023 was selected:

“Play so that you may be serious.” Anacharsis

For our 25th season we want to artistically play on the Neukölln venues. With the festival edition of 2023, we conceive creative free spaces somewhere between children's games, power games and the diversity of play worlds for a (playful) confrontation with the challenges in these ongoing times of crisis.

Play is part of life and can be practiced as a contrast and balance to work, wars and conflicts, but also as a tool for playful processing.

Whether as a voluntary, purposeful activity that can unfold freely or as a playful social activity with strategy, self-discovery, and with the abundance of tasks towards fellow human beings, play has an important role in urban society.

Which places are used for the play?

What social expressions emerge in urban play?

In play - this complex and multifaceted phenomenon - we construct our own framework for play, transform reality into creative scopes and define our playroles.

Let's play!

The festival will take place from 23 to 25 June 2023.
