48 Stunden Neukölln is an annual art festival that transforms Neukölln into an experimental playground and provides a platform for the independent art scene in Berlin. During these 48 hours art connects, confronts, and communicates with visitors in various ways. The festival’s main feature is its decentralised format, which invites the visitors to discover and experience art in private flats, green spaces, backyards, shopping centres and public spaces, as well as in typical art venues. The festival welcomes contemporary and political art, opens a discussion on socio-political questions, and supports an ongoing exchange with the international art scene.
Our vision: art creates the city. Our core value is Intersectional solidarity: we explicitly welcome queer, feminist and decolonial perspectives, practices and ongoing discourses.
