"Urban Echoes" is a group exhibition of six artists:

Verena Denise, Daria Kanishcheva, Johanna Keimeyer, Liza Kin, Anna Poubová, Marlyn Kist de Ruijter, and curated by Sonya Kondrashina.

The exhibition explores the perception of urban silence across various dimensions: within cityscapes, outside of hustle life, in tranquil settings of countryside, and within the inner depths of individuals. While silence may be easy to notice outside of cities, its presence in urban environments is more elusive.

Through a diverse range of mediums, including black and white or color landscape photography, as well as portraiture, paintings, and sculpture, these artists offer their unique interpretation and perception of silence. In their artworks, viewers can sense the presence or absence of sound, inviting them to explore the nuances of urban quiet.

Café Neukölln - the venue formerly known as das KAPiTAL, and for organizing artist talks - invites you to immerse yourself in the captivating artworks of “Urban Echoes”, and hidden melodies of silence.
