Communication and negotiation often take place at the table. The motif of the table becomes the starting point for artistic contributions. As a workplace, for social gatherings over food and drink or for conflicts - the table is celebrated as a place of exchange.
“We should come together at one table!” is often said. The table can be a place of work, of community, of meeting, of arguing and negotiating. At the table, however, there can also be a predetermined (seating) order, a form of coercion, evaluation, hierarchy and ultimately exclusion. “If you don't follow the table manners, you have to leave!”
12 artists will serve up on Weichselplatz. The joint debate on “What the Fact” will be negotiated at or on tables, set up around the perennial bed and brick-walled rondel. Allow yourself to be surprised by the stories, truths, lies or new myths that will be served up, or whether this topic will be interpreted as a sensual, a culinary, an acoustic, a haptic, an olfactory or an aesthetic experience.

riXXperiment - the artistic laboratory and experimental space created by Cornelia Bördlein, Peter Müller and Eva AM Winnersbach - has its origins on Richardplatz, which has been used annually since 2013 as part of the 48h NK (e.g. “Hotel Rix” or “riXXperiment Röhre”). In addition to the reference to the location, the name includes the borrowing “(Ex)periment”, which signals the social, cultural, spatial and, last but not least, aesthetic re-creation will of the laboratory. Artists from different disciplines are always invited to enter into a temporary and site-specific artistic exchange.
In addition to a guest performance on Herrfurthplatz (“refresh”) and the Landwehrkanal (“bubbles”), riXXperiment has now been taking place on Weichselplatz since 2024.
