Festival edition 2025
27 - 29 June 2025
Theme: WTF (what the fact)? Between truth and perception

2025 was a particularly challenging year. It was preceded by months of anxiety over the approval of funding and thus the continued existence of the festival. But it had to go on. The application phase began with great uncertainty about the funding and it was unclear whether there would even be an edition in 2025. In January, the redemptive news finally came: 2025 and 26 were secured for the time being. However, the long wait and the uncertainty have left their mark: the 2025 edition was smaller than in previous years and some projects could not be realised due to the long planning uncertainty. Nevertheless, we have seen how strongly our community stands behind the festival. The support and commitment of the people who support 48 Stunden Neukölln, as well as the trust and enthusiasm of the artists, have made this edition something very special.

Under the theme "WTF (what the fact)? Between Truth and Perception", the event focussed on the question of how we construct reality and who actually has a say in it. At a time when disinformation, digital overload and endless scrolling characterise our everyday lives, 48 Stunden Neukölln provided an artistic counterpoint: How are digital narratives created? What images shape our understanding of the world? And how does this affect our self-image?

New to the programme: the Perspectives exhibition format, in which young curators develop and implement their own perspectives on the festival theme. The programme was complemented by guided tours and DIY routes that enabled everyone to discover art individually and free of charge.
