The magic and diversity of this district, which reflects the spirit and flow of Berlin like no other. And how do we do that? With a variety of opportunities to participate in 48 Stunden Neukölln.

Artists with a cool idea for the festival theme or groups who want to curate an exhibition together will find a great diversity for the realization of their projects and the greatest possible freedom to express their creativity in our 17 art sections.

Behind this name hides the large number of artistic projects at 48 Stunden Neukölln and the format with which it all began.

No matter to which category the art shown belongs, it has something to do with the festival theme. From large and small, well-known and unknown, to classical or experimental artists* - the great diversity and extraordinary commitment of the Berlin art scene is evident here. They deserve a big thank you, because it is you who make 48 Stunden Neukölln what it is.

Because you must not forget that 48 Stunden Neukölln is a low-budget art festival that was created as a project in Neukölln to do something for the district and the art and cultural scene based here. In order for the festival to take place every year, we are constantly trying to raise funds for 48 Stunden Neukölln. Nevertheless, we have only very limited resources and do not have the financial possibilities to conclude fee contracts with the participating artists*. However, there is the possibility to apply for a grant! All information about this can be found here.

Open format - the special for all Neukölln places of art

Not bound to the festival theme but still participating? Yes! That is also possible at 48 Stunden Neukölln. Because it is close to our hearts to strengthen the local Neukölln art scene! As an "open format", every year around one hundred year-round venues of art and culture, such as galleries, studios or open-work spaces open their doors and present their work as part of 48 Hours Neukölln.

You've never experienced the district like this before. At the supermarket at the checkout and suddenly in the middle of a flute concert? Immersed in futuristic paintings at the kebab store you trust? During 48 Stunden Neukölln, up to 600 different Neukölln locations take part as venues every year. Just stroll through the streets and be in the middle of it all in the art and in 48 Stunden Neukölln.
