BGVestival - Berlin Global Village's Summer Festival
Daada, Mandhla und Viele mehr!
27 June 2025 19:00–21:00
As in previous years, the Berlin Global Village is once again celebrating a great summer festival this year.
Located in the heart of Neukölln, the Berlin Global Village is a lively place where over 50 - predominantly migrant-diasporic - organizations and initiatives are active. They are committed to issues of social and ecological justice and highlight global interconnections. At the annual BGVestival, these organizations open their doors and introduce themselves to a wider audience.
Interested visitors have the opportunity to get to know the building, find out about the work of the various initiatives and take part in numerous hands-on activities. A special offer for children and young people approaches socio-political issues in a creative and playful way. Those activities are accompanied by a varied stage program: performances, open stage sessions, poetry readings, exhibitions, film screenings and much more, the center becomes a vibrant place.
For the evening program we have invited two outstanding talents : The singer Daada and the artist Mandhla will bring the summer evening to life with their performances. Daada's music combines soulful, gentle melodies with powerful lyrics. Mandhla, on the other hand, fuses electronic sounds with danceable rhythms. Together they will create the musical finale of the BGVestival.

Biography
Daada, Mandhla und Viele mehr!
A diverse stage program awaits you – with Daada & Mandhla as the grand finale!
Daada makes music for those who feel at home in many places — and in none. Raised in Tanzania by a Colombian mother and a German father, she grew up between languages, cultures, and rhythms. Her songs are a reflection of that — a magnetic brand of Pop infused with Afro and Latin that speaks in English, Spanish and Swahili.
Mandhla is a 27 year old trans-feminine gender non-comforming body born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa. As a current resident in Berlin, she brings a blend of experimental R&B and Soul music intertwined with visual projections and performative dancing. She is also an avid member of the Berlin Ballroom Scene, and is the mother of the Kiki House of Laveaux.
