How do we see emotions? How does perception shape reality?
“Echoes of Your Face” is an interactive art installation that transforms human expressions into dynamic visual compositions using light and abstract painting. The project invites visitors to engage with a large, multi-zonal canvas, where emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, and surprise are reflected through shifting lighting effects.
A camera captures the participant’s facial expression, and an AI system analyzes the dominant emotion. In response, the canvas comes to life as specific sections are illuminated, subtly shifting in brightness and color. Instead of a rigid emotional classification, the installation allows for layered interpretations, incorporating traces of secondary emotions to create nuanced visual changes.
Set in a semi-darkened space, the installation creates an immersive atmosphere where the audience’s emotions shape the artwork itself.
Through this interplay of art, technology, and human perception, Echoes of Your Face invites visitors to explore the fluidity of emotions and how our interpretations shape what we see.
