Through a visceral interplay of drawing, textile, and spatial composition, this body of work investigates the metamorphic nature of psychological play—a fluid, potent force capable of unlocking heightened states of intimacy and radical self-encounter. Figurative forms emerge and dissolve within layers of ink and fabric, evoking the fragmentation and reassembly of identity. The installation becomes both a site and a ritual—a tender, unsettling terrain where viewers confront vulnerability, desire, and the deep textures of the psyche.
Biography
Sofia Dimitrova
Sofia Dimitrova is a visual artist whose work centers on femininity, trauma, and identity, with a particular focus on women's health and the silent battles carried within the body. Drawing on feminist art movements, philosophies of bodily autonomy, and personal experience, she creates visual narratives that explore memory, resilience, and the complex realities of chronic illness. Her practice delves into the female form as both an intimate and universal vessel—one that holds personal and collective histories. Through drawing, installation, and material exploration, Dimitrova reimagines the body as a site of strength, vulnerability, and transformation. Her work challenges societal perceptions and seeks to reclaim narratives often silenced or marginalized.
