Fragments of Un-Certainty

How much truth lies in what we see and hear? And how much of it do we simply want to believe? Aren’t we, in many ways, manipulators ourselves – through our gestures, our words, our reactions?

Step into a room within a room – a structure that pulls you away from the familiar world and into the depths of your own perception. On a screen, historical, real, staged, and generated content continuously shifts. Some speak to you directly, others feel familiar – but which are real? Or do they just feel so? Why do we instinctively react to words, images, and sounds? Why do we love fiction in films, books – and sometimes even in our own lives?

Which stories do you believe? What emotions do they evoke? And how much of your perception is shaped by memory, emotions, and bias?

Fragments of Un-Certainty is an immersive installation where reality and illusion, the external world and our inner experiences, merge. What happens when our fundamental trust in our own perception begins to waver, and we become acutely aware of our own subjectivity? Has our world ever truly been “real” – does independent truth even exist?

Our installation reveals how easily we are influenced – and how often we want to be. But perhaps a more conscious perception begins right here: with the question of what is truly happening before our eyes.
