IRREALITY

Linda Kutzki

Barrierefreier Zugang
27 June 2025 19:00 – 29 June 2025 19:00
The artistic technique of collage (analogue and digital) offers a wide range of possibilities to create surreal worlds that irritate the eye.
In her collages, Linda Kutzki plays with perspectives, places real places in other contexts or confuses the viewer's expectations. For example, an idyllic campsite is transformed into a scene of jealousy or a cosy afternoon watching TV becomes a scary thriller that wants to step out of the flickering world of the screen.
Precisely BECAUSE we are surrounded by glowing screens every day, she deliberately works in analogue. The collaged (so: glued) works can not only be experienced haptically, but are also clearly visible. Viewers can see that it is real material – but only that. Thematically, she is looking for the unreal/surreal.
With a confusion of the senses and contexts, Linda Kutzki wants to captivate, amuse and inspire viewers to think about the content of images.

Biography

Linda Kutzki

Linda Kutzki (*1981) tells stories of freedom, love and the possibility of being happy with little in her (mixed media) collages. In her mostly colourful compositions, she celebrates being human. What defines us? She is interested in the feeling, unordered, chaotic, and non-rational human being with all their edges, flaws, and imperfections and is inspired by what surrounds her: a passerby’s overheard word, the city with its architecture and the people within it.
