Germany

The New St. Jacobi Cemetery is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hermannstrasse S-Bahn station. It is no longer available for burials. One of the most famous surviving graves is that of the theologian Bruno Bauer (1809 - 1882), whose writings were critically examined by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. The cemetery, which was established in 1867, is mentioned in the novel "Irrungen, Wirrungen" by Theodor Fontane.
