A participatory documentary project about Neukölln! Everyone is welcome! I usually explore the communities of large megapolis cities. I am therefore inspired by the idea of creating interviews with Neukoln residents about their favorite places in the district. I am very curious about stories, love listening, and have needed experience. I would like to make my project in a few steps:
Give a short class in English (hopefully with translation to Deutch) on how to film and interview with a smartphone.
Then ask participants of the class to find their heroes (maybe just simply to split in pairs) and to interview them during the 1st day of the MK (simply ask the question “Why is this your favorite place?”).
In the beginning of the last day to gather all materials and to edit the final movie.
Then to watch the resulting documentary in public together to achieve a group dynamic and discussion.
I understand that I myself would be a stranger to most of the participants, first on the language level. Though Ich spreche ein wenig Deutch and fluent Russian, it would be a journey or challenge to find the connection and common language, which itself would be part of my project.

It seems to me that now when the world is torn by contradictions, it is essential to find something to stand on: and searching for connection is a great option.

I usually explore the world of the Other(s) in my work. In doing so, I draw on insights from different fields of psychology, urban science, sociology, and design: all of which help me to create a holistic picture. Being an emigrant for the last 3 years, I have huge practical experience of living in very changing conditions, which enrich my experience.
