29 June 2025 10:00–18:00
The new home for journalism and public discourse at Hermannstraße 90 is participating in 48 Stunden Neukölln: On June 29, we invite everyone to get to know Publix and the work of the organizations in the building. We will offer a full program focused on media creation and ways to combat disinformation. With the motto "What the Fact" we engage with all year round.
Publix is an innovation center aimed at strengthening journalism, civil society, and public opinion formation. More than 400 people from over 30 organizations and editorial offices work in the offices and the associated coworking space, including Reporters Without Borders, Netzwerk Recherche, Correctiv, More in Common, and Lie Detectors. The areas of work for the editorial teams and civil society organizations are diverse. They research and publish, protect press freedom, support journalistic investigations and public-interest media, promote media literacy, monitor digital platforms, raise awareness about disinformation and hate speech, and advocate for social cohesion and diversity. Additionally, Publix offers a public program for professionals and citizens.
On June 29, we would like to introduce you to Publix. We have a whole day full of workshops, talks, media to co-create, artistic workshops and a photo exhibition. If you've ever wanted to know how art can help in dealing with fake news, how to write a good Wikipedia entry, what’s important when creating TikToks, or how AI-generated fakes can be exposed – this is the place for you. Together with the organizations in our building, we will show how we use journalistic and artistic approaches to present facts in an understandable way – and most importantly, how you can get involved too. If you just want to drop by, you’ll find our screen printing workshop and a boules court in the garden, delicious snacks in the Publix canteen, or you can watch how a podcast is made in the audio and video studios.
