What is real? What just looks like it? And what has been deliberately staged so that we no longer know?
The exhibition brings together photographs that play with our perception. Some pictures look like snapshots from real life – others are staged from front to back. And then there are works where, in the end, you don’t even know exactly what you’ve just seen.
Whether through classic photography, digital gimmicks or absurd details, the artists in this exhibition show that every picture also tells a story – just not always the one we recognize at first glance.
Because one thing is certain: for every motif, no matter how strange, there is someone who has photographed it with passion and conviction. No subject is too weird, no moment too small not to become a picture.
The exhibition invites you to marvel, question and smile – and perhaps also to reflect on how much we can actually trust images. Because sometimes they don’t dance to our tune. Or they lead us exactly where we never wanted to look.

The Foto-Salon is a group of artists who have been meeting at atelier hdK for many years to present their own work and discuss it together.
In addition, we organize our own exhibitions, discuss the positions of other artists and visit exhibitions together.
All participating artists work in the spirit of auteur photography, which is primarily interested in their own environment and has set itself the goal of implementing its own visual languages and themes beyond clichés.
