Veritas Percepta
Marie Zechiel & Elodie Carstensen
28 June 2025 21:15–22:30
Truth (Veritas) is never absolute. It shifts with perspective, with the light that falls upon it—or
leaves it in darkness. Who leads, who follows? And what happens when the line between human
and machine begins to blur?
In Veritas Percepta, a dancer is accompanied by a hovering drone—sometimes as an ally,
sometimes as an intruder, sometimes as something that can barely be controlled. It is both
spotlight and shadow-caster, an omnipresent force shaping and distorting the scene. At times, it
seems devoted to the dancer, like a futuristic pet. At others, it takes control, reshaping the space
and influencing every movement. Is it a partner or an adversary? A tool or a being?
Here, technology is not just a means to an end but a narrative in itself. The precisely
choreographed interplay between drone and body creates a visual dynamic where light and
shadow become fleeting boundaries—constantly redefining truth.
Behind Veritas Percepta are choreographer and movement director Marie Zechiel and Berlin-
based fashion designer Elodie Carstensen. As a Duo, they create interdisciplinary performances
that fuse choreography, fashion, and space into immersive experiences. Their work constructs
universes where movement, light, and technology merge into new forms of perception and
interaction—always with the goal of dissolving boundaries between disciplines and reimagining
space
