Full emptyempty full is the description of life. You can 'read' the drawing from left to right and from right to left. Through emptiness and through form, with or without color.

Leonardo da Vinci said: "Be aware of how everything is connected to everything."

Life (and the drawing) goes from nothing to everything and from everything to nothing. It is our choice what we tell ourselves; we decide what kind of story we experience or how we perceive our life. Do we see emptiness or fullness? We experience the same situations and yet we perceive them differently. Everyone has their own perception, based on memories, feelings, senses, learned concepts, culture, and more. Perception is also truth, but it is limited. We only have our perception to understand the world and receive information, and that is indeed our truth. However, it becomes clear that our perception of reality as human beings is based on our limited mind, which has difficulty grasping many things at once with the five senses, while reality is much more comprehensive. In my drawing, I blend all the perspectives of other people. The drawing contains many individual situations that come together to form a mosaic of life, thus creating a new truth. Situations that, in themselves, have nothing to do with each other and seem unrelated.

The new truth of the painting is actually the unity and the understanding that we are all the same, experiencing the same situations, that even though we see them differently, they come together in harmony.

Biography

Stav Eitan

Stav Eitan grew up in London and Israel. She studied video art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts, but these days she devotes herself primarily to drawing.
She lives in Berlin for 6.5 years and documents everyday and ordinary things.

'As an artist deeply passionate about capturing the intricacies of human behaviour through my drawings, I find myself drawn to the profound connection between art and life. Each stroke of my drawing tool is an exploration of the human experience, a journey into the depths of emotion and expression.
For me, art is more than just a creative outlet—it's a means of understanding and interpreting the world around me. In every line, I seek to convey the nuances of human interaction, the subtle gestures that speak volumes, and the emotions that resonate within u.'
