48 Stunden Neukölln is a project of Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln e.V.
But that would be too simple. 48 Stunden Neukölln is so much more!
It is 48 hours in the Berlin summer. It is the wonderful Neukölln. It is incredible artists with multifaceted projects and numerous visitors who stroll curiously through the neighborhoods. 48 Stunden Neukölln is a meeting place. It is a platform for curated but also uncurated, freely presented art. It is all the dedicated team members who work passionately behind the scenes to make this great and important project happen every year. 48 Stunden Neukölln. That is you! That's us.
48 Stunden Neukölln. The largest independent art festival in Berlin.
As a forum for artistic projects from all sectors of the Berlin art scene, the decentralized festival presents and promotes art that contributes to the discussion of current social issues and reflects on them. Since its founding in 1999, 48 Stunden Neukölln has established itself as Berlin's largest independent art festival with its exemplary character. The artistic works created here act as impulses far beyond Berlin-Neukölln, take a stand on issues affecting society as a whole, and promote a sustained exchange with the international art scene. In 2024, the festival received the double-year EFFE label (2024-2025) for the third time in its history.
The Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion funded the festival from 2018 until expectedly the end of 2024.
In addition, the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Neukölln District Office of Berlin supports the festival with its own funding for artists. Also the actors and action network for the center Karl-Marx-Strasse, the AKTION! KARL-MARX-STRAßE (A!KMS) is also involved with financial support. In addition, much would not be possible without our long-standing sponsors STADT UND LAND, Fernheizwerk Neukölln and Boesner.
