Scary Bunnies
Rahel Schöppenthau und Dominik Bliefert
27 June 2025 19:30–23:30
Two actors on tour who are also – and most importantly – siblings find it way easier to navigate the reality of their play than the real world. As they find themselves stranded in a nondescript theatre space that could really be anywhere, the borders between reality, appearance and fantasy start dissolving.
Driven by the fear of the world 'out there' perception becomes blurred and distorted, and while the characters of the play do not dare to leave their house anymore we see the parallels to today, where people seek refuge in alternative, seemingly familiar and controllable realities and truths. Because performing a (dreamed-up) life on social media or engaging in parasocial relationships with influencers seems to be easier and to create less conflict.
So we wander round the rooms of polymedialer Ponyhof, seeking for what's the truth and what is appearance. And what is reality, anyway? Lying to yourself has become a popular sport. So, are encounters with these two actors performance or real? And do you perceive that the same way as I do?
