The Death of the Sacred and it’s Slow Rebirth

Sacredness is dying out. Rituals, sanctuaries, contemplation, roots—they are fading away.
Do we want to let them slip away? Just leave them to others?... Or… take a chance?
To revive them.
To begin discovering our sacredness.
Gently, gently. Who or what could become our sanctuaries? How do we let connections grow again? Fill the void?
We are building a space for this. We will hold ceremonies, offer gifts, seek and share devotion. To slowly revive it.
And perhaps, perhaps this will be our path
to find strength in the here and now.

Biography
Johanna und Ricarda
Johanna and Ricarda aren’t religious. And that’s the problem. Where can they fulfill their human need for contemplative gatherings, rituals, and metaphysical exchange? Where can they deal with life and death? Especially when religious institutions still hold a monopoly on these things.
They find that in a world where powerlessness and fear are taking over, there is a lack of spaces for Sacredness. They now want to make an attempt at it for 48 hours in Neukölln—to build the space they long for.
