Whispers beneath the pavement
Despina Kapetanaki
28 June 2025 20:00–21:00
A lone figure drifts through Hermannplatz, her slow, distorted gestures disrupting the city’s relentless flow. She moves through like an apparition rising from an unseen undercurrent, a flickering presence between worlds-a manifestation of urban fantasy dissolving into the noise.
Through EarPods, the audience hears a cascade of poetic monologues, inner thoughts unraveling in a stream of consciousness -fragments of dreams and nightmares bleeding into the presence. Voices emerge and vanish, identities shift, memories distort. The city moves on, yet time stretches, perception blurs. A Butoh inspired walk cuts through the square, a quiet rupture in the rhythm of commuters, screens, and transactions.
Reality flickers. Boundaries thin. The familiar turns distant, as if recalled from a dream.
The audience will experience the performance through pre-recorded monologues, accessible via their own devices. Ranging from poetic introspection to fractured inner dialogues, these recordings mirror the site’s atmosphere and the performer’s movements. Attendees who RSVP via projekttheatre@gmail.com will receive the link via email one day before the event, or they can access it via QR code on site.
