The KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art is located in the premises of a former brewery in North Neukölln and presents a wide variety of contemporary art. With approximately 1,600 square meters of exhibition space, it showcases painting, sculpture, installations, video art and performances.
The KINDL presents regularly changing exhibitions. Numerous works are conceived specifically for the venues. In particular, the imposing boiler house (Kesselhaus) serves as a starting point for artists to create site-specific installations.
To date, Cornelia Parker, Alfredo Jaar, Emma Talbot, Mona Hatoum, Alexandra Bircken, Nik Nowak, Bettina Pousttchi, Thomas Scheibitz, Haegue Yang, David Claerbout, and Roman Signer have all realized works for this unique space at the KINDL.
