Movables - What you take with you are the things

Schloss Britz is closely linked to the lives of the people who lived here. ‘Mobilien’ focuses on the period between 1924 and 1945, when the manor house was newly owned by the city of Berlin and had been divided into four rental flats. No traces of the former residents have survived.
Fides Becker, Anja Teske and Julia Ziegler are now using contemporary art to speculate on what traces the former tenants might have left behind. It is about belongings, everyday objects and nothing less than the possible experiences and memories of those people unknown to us.
Photography, objects, wall designs and paintings respond to the fundamental questions: What remains when things are gone? What is taken with us when we move, what is lost?
