A path made of newspaper—ephemeral, rustling loudly with every step. Upon it stands a performer, clad in a heavy costume fashioned from those very printed chronicles of the world—bearing the weight of expectations, opinions, and time itself.
The translation of “NurGehen” (engl. “Just Walking”) into Lithuanian is “Tikėjimas.” Yet what sounds like simple movement in German signifies something deeply profound in Lithuanian: “faith.”
The performance presents a metaphor for life’s journey. The artist carries the weight of existence across a path made of paper. Each step is a struggle against her own burden, until the monotony breaks. The burden is transformed through the sheer act of movement, and life changes direction. It is a powerful act of moving forward when faith remains the only compass.
