27 June 2025 19:00 – 29 June 2025 19:00
Parrhesia, derived from the ancient Greek term for “fearless speech” draws on Michel Foucault’s reflections on truth-telling and the ethics of speaking openly in the face of power. This sculptural installation interrogates the language we use to describe historical transitions with focusing on terms as post-colonial, post-war, post-modern and invites reflecting on how these labels influence our understanding of time, trauma, and continuity.

The installation consists of six amphoras, each a vessel carrying the weight of collective memory and how these terms shape our understanding of time and history. In today’s fast-paced, digitally saturated world, we often neglect to question the weight these terms carry. Parrhesia asks: What does it mean to be "post" anything? Are we escaping the traumas of history, or is it still shaping us, whether we realize it or not? The final amphora stands empty as an open, unfired vessel that symbolizes the present moment. Created in Berlin, this piece invites visitors to become active participants in the ongoing creation of history, a space for collaboration, to shape, draw, and write upon together.

Through this work, the exhibition creates a bridge between the past, present, and future. It calls for a deeper engagement with our history, not as passive observers, but as active participants in a dialogue about how we can shape our path forward together.
