In this series of photographs, the gaze encounters the random, the overlooked and the fleeting. These are photographs of shapes, traces and structures that have come about unintentionally – flaking paint, shadows, weathered surfaces or random constellations in urban spaces. What at first appears to be an everyday backdrop reveals itself, upon closer inspection, to be a figurative suggestion, an abstract composition or a poetic moment. Art that no one planned, yet still touches us.
