In an era where digital manipulation, social media, filters, and AI are fundamentally reshaping our perception of beauty and reality, the line between real and fake is becoming increasingly blurred. The group exhibition “Distorted Truths” showcases works by 12 Berlin-based photographers, demonstrating that the boundary between truth and falsehood can also fade without technical interventions. Their photographs depict scenes that feel surreal, subtly suggesting hidden meanings through details in composition, lighting, or atmosphere. With careful staging, these works direct the viewer’s attention to initially unnoticed or ambiguous elements—an invitation to reflect on the layers of “truth” often concealed behind the obvious.
Each image addresses the central theme of blurred boundaries between reality and perception in the digital age, with each photographer interpreting the theme in a unique style and from an individual perspective. The photographs challenge viewers to question their own patterns of perception and to critically reflect on the impact of the digital world on our understanding of truth.
