#PinkSquareProject

For the Neukölln 48H Festival 2026, I’m presenting my public intervention series titled #pinksquareproject (2022–ongoing). It is a minimalistic project in terms of material, consisting of pink duct tape forming a square shape on the street. Conceptually, it highlights both historical and current questions surrounding physical borders of safer spaces within the night-time economy and the city at night. Through a playful and accessible approach, and the simple act of stepping or jumping in and out of the squares, the project invites viewers to examine their awareness of inside and outside spaces, and how these relate to joy, empowerment, and belonging within physical and mental space. My aim is to tape around 20 squares in different historical locations in Neukölln. A map of them will be linked here closer to the time.
