Das Neuköllner Ohr

Leon Klaßen, Lisa van Heyden, Kim Kuhl, Masahiko Saji,

28 June 2024 19:00 – 30 June 2024 19:00
A large ear is placed in the heart of Neukölln and turns the everyday soundscape into an artistic symphony. The installation allows us to listen more closely and invites us to experience the city in its diverse sounds. As a walk-in organ of the city, it is integrated into the public space and invites to listen collectively.
Who says what and what do we actually hear from the confusion of the city? Which sounds do we listen to and which do we ignore? Who do we listen to and what is drowned out by whom and why?
The installation deals with the urban soundscape and how we as inhabitants of the city locate ourselves in it.
