Dana Burns’s paintings co-create with nature and her local surroundings as she processes post-Covid Millennial burnout, immigration angst & multiple levels of grief within her two hermitic years in Berlin. The dark soul of the city, its various green spaces & the inability to socialise unlike ever before provided Burns with the opportunity to dive deeply into her psyche and finally face certain shadows head-on. “There's purpose in pain and a gift in every loss” is a constant reminder as the artist listens to the sounds of nature amongst the city’s chaos — painting the final chapters of her laborious Chironic journey from her petite Neukölln studio.
