What does fear feel like? What does it do to our bodies? Does it find a place in urban space? And how do we react to fear? - Trembling, tension, shortness of breath. Fight, flight, freeze.
These questions form the foundation of the piece. The deep sounds of techno weld the individual bodies into something collective. The swarm billows across the stage. Repetitive, pulsating movements are permeated by the heartbeat of the music. The surroundings fade out. Silence emerges. And in between, the fear that (un)expectedly breaks out. A constant companion that keeps trying to manipulate and gain control over the body. But doesn't fear also have a positive function as a protective mechanism?

The idea for the piece FEAR was developed by Julia Wilde and was realised in collaboration with the dancers in an open working process.
Julia Wilde (she/her) is a theatre and dance academic and pedagogue. She currently works in open youth work and as a teacher for dance and theatre at a primary school in Neukölln. She also supports the youth organisation 'youngprojects' as a project worker with a focus on public relations at the FEZ-Berlin. The interdisciplinary work between the fields of art, culture, political education and pedagogy is a matter close to her heart.
