Berlin Hermannplatz. You like it or you don't like it. I like it a lot. I'm absolutly fascinated of it.
As the heart of Neukölln, it shows me pretty much every way of life and every lifestyle that this neighborhood has to offer. And these are many: hipsters, creatives, migrants of all generations and origins, freaks, natives, junkies, business and homeless people, dropouts and many more.
I wanted to get in touch. Try to get a little glimpse into each little individual universe. To get a picture of each one. And: to take a picture of every single one.
An empty snack bar on Hermannplatz became my photo studio and transformed into a black box, a black hole. Absorbed all noise. As if by a pull, the viewer's attention is drawn to the people portrayed. They return the look. And reveal a little secret.

Biography

Dario Lehner

Dario Lehner lives and works as a freelance photographer in Berlin since 2003.
His work has already been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

The photo study HRMNPLTZ was created in summer 2019.
A short conversation was held with all the protagonists and they were specifically asked about a life motto.

With his free projects he always wants to highlight and question socio-political phenomena, clichés and commonplaces.
After SCHLEIER (2016) and 33 BREATHS (2019), HRMNPLTZ is his third contribution to 48h Neukölln.
