What is love, anyway? Is it truly an elusive, subjective question? bell hooks argues that when we dilute its meaning, we drift further from understanding it. While exchanging thoughts on activism, love, and healing with a Cameroonian activist in Berlin, I heard a phrase that struck me: Love is land that no one inhabits. Strangely, it was the same phrase my grandmother used to tell me as a child while we tended our vegetable garden. She explained that love is like the earth—you can nurture it, walk on it, leave your imprint—but you cannot truly inhabit it. This performance research explores that paradox. Through sound drawings and an immersive installation, I seek to unravel the essence of love—whether in familial bonds, romantic encounters, friendships, or spiritual experiences.
