In my mixed media collages and linocut prints, I tell stories of freedom, love and the possibility of being happy with little.
My pictures are the result of various events: a word snapped up from a pedestrian in passing, a glance at the sky, a memory during a subway ride ...
Years ago, I came to linocut from a preference for everything printed. The uncomplicated material and the reduction to a few lines inspire me, because I can tell a novel (or at least a short story) in pointed motifs. I value crooked lines and imperfection, as they reveal the organic, the living.
Collage, on the other hand, can be exuberant in its forms, colors and materials. I only recently discovered it for myself. The possibility of collage allows me to create absurd or "fantastic" images. What may not make sense at first glance develops into stories on closer inspection.
