The term HYBRID has been used especially often in connection with the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, particularly since the Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in 2014. In this context, a mixture of military action, information warfare, and political pressure has been discussed. In short: Hybrid warfare is a conflict in which different forms of warfare are combined to weaken the opponent on multiple levels at the same time. A hybrid is generally something that results from the combination of two different elements, systems, or types. Humans too? Yes, the word hybrid can also be used when referring to people, but not in the biological sense between different species. A person can be described as hybrid if they combine multiple cultural backgrounds. For example, someone with two cultural identities or with parents from different countries. People also speak of a hybrid lifestyle and hybrid working – when one works partially in the office and partially at home.
