Paint Shop Berlin

Paint Shop opened in October 2024 on the border of Kreuzberg and Neukölln – close to Hermannplatz, a central hub of young, international Berlin. The location shapes the gallery: accessible, focused, and close to the discourses of a vibrant art scene. Run by André Simonow, Erik Ritzel, and Lukas Fritze, Paint Shop brings together experience from artistic practice, curatorial work, collection building, and exhibition production. The programme focuses on painting and object-based art. Many of the artists work in an interdisciplinary and site-responsive manner, without deferring to trend-driven expectations. Paint Shop presents predominantly solo exhibitions, treating each as a carefully considered curatorial format.
