Hyeseung Jung from Calgary, Canada, and Marte Kiessling from Berlin embarked on a shared artistic journey exploring the microcosm of fictional organisms through printmaking. Their collaboration brings together two distinct artistic voices that converge in prints, drawings, video works, and hand-bound book collaborations. Through an experimental interplay of printmaking techniques, drawing, collage, and moving image, they create a layered and immersive visual universe.
Inspired by the wonders of nature, the exhibition invites viewers into an invisible realm—a world of imagined life forms developed with a nuanced sensitivity to shape and structure. These organisms function as portals into a universe that exists solely within the artists’ collective imagination. Here, reality and fantasy merge, and visitors are encouraged to traverse the landscapes of this creative partnership.
Across continents, their artistic exchange remained vibrant and ongoing. The collaboration evolved as a continuous dialogue, bringing together different perspectives, experiences, and visual languages. Rather than dissolving difference, their practice embraces it as a productive force—laying the groundwork for new visual worlds that oscillate between close observation of nature and speculative imagination.
