“What is called aura here is familiar to artistic experience under the name of the atmosphere of the artwork, as that through which the connection of its moments points beyond them, and allows each individual moment to point beyond itself.”
—Theodor W. Adorno
AURA explores the fragile boundary between inside and outside—a permeable zone that is constantly renegotiated, in which identity is neither fixed nor complete. The two artists, Elena Kaludova and Marc-Oliver Pospiech, understand aura as an in-between space where self-image and external perception meet, overlap, contradict one another, and merge. AURA, conceived as a boundary, does not appear here as a clear line separating the private from the public, but rather as a sensitive membrane: a filter for emotions, projections, gender roles, and social complexes.
