Cache Iterum

Cache Iterum presents a machinized zoetrope that reanimates early animation devices through a ring of small digital displays. Twelve screens rotate around a central structure, each showing a fragment of a looping image sequence. Together they form a continuous cycle of moving images that evokes suspended time and residual memory. The installation draws on early digital aesthetics and media imagery from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Referencing Mark Fisher’s notion of hauntology, the work reflects on how cultural forms from the past persist as aesthetic surfaces, detached from their original context. Through repetition and mechanical movement, Cache Iterum stages a loop in which nostalgia, digital memory, and technological mediation converge.
