Inner Landscapes | Rose Rose
Mixed media — inks, acrylics, and water-soluble pigments on cotton rag paper and canvas
Portraits of the inner world, charted in the language of landscape. Rose’s work treats borders not as fixed lines but as permeable zones — where ink seeps through fiber, pigment resists surface, and thread-like lines trace the shifting territory between inside and out. Her topographies do not map a hidden interior so much as reveal the two as already entangled: the outside long inscribed within, the inside always bleeding through. Hovering between expressive abstraction and the figurative, each piece is an act of scrying — archetypal forms, automatic writing, and imagined flora emerging from the folds where identity, memory, and landscape are still being negotiated.

Biography

Rose Rose

“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” — Zora Neale Hurston
Rose Rose is a Florida-based international artist with a BFA from the University of South Florida and an MFA from Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. Raised on the Gulf Coast, she has lived and exhibited in England, New York, and Bulgaria, where she traveled and painted for seven years. Her work has been shown at the Salvador Dalí Museum, Newark Arts Festival, and other exhibitions. She has taught visual arts programs across the US, UK, and Eastern Europe. The shifts in climate, landscape, and culture across these years have shaped her emotional and creative archetypes — giving rise to the paintings she calls Inner Landscapes.
