In the “dead” industrial area, at the upper harbour of the Berlin Canal – a place where no one would expect to find it – lies a haven of artistic freedom. Political, artistic, self-organised. This is Filmarche, a creative community and film school that has been in existence for 24 years. Here, the boundaries between filmmaking and community are blurred, and the principle of collaborative learning and creating prevails.
