KSTN Berlin

Migration is a process of transposition, in which we re-signify elements. In it, the media changes, ruptures are generated and - in the words of Walter Benjamin - our mimetic capacity is set in motion.
At Kastanien we intend to focus on this specific moment of the creative process. In each exhibition, we present works that show causes and/or effects, that play with the possibilities in the construction of themes and identity, emphasising the intersectional perspective of these processes.
This has opened up possibilities for future alliances and collaborations, which we want to foster today more than ever, with the idea of generating spaces for a collective reflecting of social facts through art.
