The art film "forgotten headphones" explores the theme of urban silence and the sensitivity in dealing with silence and protected space. The film accompanies a walk through the city and shows the numerous, thunderous impressions through the perspective of a highly sensitive person. Topics such as mental health and the lack of protected, quiet spaces in Berlin are critically examined. The overstimulation of all city residents, the right to a protected, quiet space for everyone, as well as the paradox of a socially demanded healthy lifestyle and functionality within it are crucial for this work and invite us to look at the topic of silence and its value from a new perspective.

Biography

Nele Gräber

I am Nele Gräber, a twenty-four-year-old artist who is exhibiting works for the first time. I am currently training in the field of fine arts, with a focus on painting and stage design. I grew up in northern Germany and have lived in Berlin for six years. The last few years, due to Corona and personal circumstances, have been characterized by reflection and processing, aride from a diagnosis of an anxiety disorder and high sensitivity in the course of therapy. These topics have influenced my work, particularly in recent years, and the work I submitted was also heavily influenced by these perspectives.
