Meet Me Being Private

Valerie Funk, Teresa Mayr und Stephanie Zurstegge

28 June 2024 19:00 – 30 June 2024 19:00
Urban space permanently draws boundaries between inside and outside, intimate and public. The exhibition "Meet Me Being Private" oscillates between these spaces, between emotions of security and defenselessness.
The quiet place – a public toilet is probably the most intimate place to be found in public space. It could be defined as an in-between place whose positioning and condition rarely suggests protection and yet demands the most intimate of its users.

The artists deal with the discrepancy between these needs and conditions in different ways. A multimedia installation that thematically reconstructs the silent place at the Kunstbrücke is accompanied by drawings and sculptures. In particular, the sculptures focus on the inside and outside in connection with the human body and provide intimate insights in an almost humorous way.
