N(o)FENCE

Lena Winters

Barrierefreier Zugang Barrierefreie Toilette
3 July 2026 19:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
Fence – as a spatial and emotional boundary – as a place where movement, negotiation, and relationship take shape. The boundary not as an attack, but as an invitation. N(o)fence. As a marker that guides without harming. As a joy of discovery and getting to know oneself and one another. Negotiable, yet clearly present. It is a point of orientation, not an obstacle.

I am interested in what happens when boundaries are not rigid. The installation is conceived as a visible strategy – OUTSIDE.

Different strategies – shared needs. The lack of awareness of them. And thus, empathy for diversity, for individuality.

In contrast, I want to explore IN / SIDE, the space of the heart, where needs for connection, comfort, and security reside. The inner landscape.

N(o)fence: Boundaries divide us – needs unite us!

Biography

Lena Winters

Lena Winters, an artist from German-speaking Belgium, combines interdisciplinary experience in costume design, stage design, and spatial design. At the heart of her work lies an exploration of human needs and space. Her pieces seek dialogue and movement—as a sensory impulse and a conscious contribution. She creates space in workshops, architectural settings, and public spaces. Large-scale painting, performances at the Detect Festival, and installations such as those on the fence of Tante Frizante are all part of her practice. Color becomes a force, an intervention. She aims to awaken, to encourage participation, to co-creation, and to make social processes sensually tangible.
